Anyone who knows this stuff?

I got this very flattering e-mail from Nandita, which also asked me something I know nothing about:

Hi Ranjan,

I trust you're well. I've been having a bit of a problem with your
blog: I don't seem to be able to access it from the (Linux) machine I
use -- the page opens up but only the title 'Small Talk' shows up and I
quite simply cannot read what you've posted. I wanted to ask you
whether you know of any way I can circumvent the prob.. I've been
reading your blog at cyber cafes recently, and to be honest, it's kind
of expensive for me to do that.

Best wishes,
N Saikia

Can anyone help? Please post it in the comments or write directly to Nandita on nansaikia@yahoo.co.uk

was just wondering if it was a good idea to put anyone's email address online... I am particularly troubled with spam-mails so I couldn't think of anything better to comment... and the fact that I have no clue about Linux also helps immensely...

Sorry, din't come here yesterday and please pass it on to her.
If it prompts for a plug in, you have to install it. but if what she is usig is an Irix machine, most of the time you cannot install plug ins. As they allow you to install from the CD only and if not in the Cd, then you have to go to a Linux machine!

I read in a Linux -RHL9 machine and have no problems. But in an Irix machine, I cannot. I guess you just need to have Java installed. Does it prompt for any plug in after a while?
